यह “National Librarians Day Celebration” गतिविधि बेहद सम्मान-जनक और प्रेरणादायक थी। 12 अगस्त को आयोजित इस कार्यक्रम में स्कूल ने अपने लाइब्रेरियन और पुस्तकालय के योगदान को सिर्फ़ पढ़ना-लिखना तक सीमित न रखकर, ज्ञान और सूचना सेवाओं की अहमियत पर प्रकाश डाला। समारोह की शुरुआत डॉ. एस. आर. रंगनाथन की याद में हुई, जिन्हें लाइब्रेरी विज्ञान के पिता कहा जाता है। उनके जीवन और उपलब्धियों पर छात्रों द्वारा भाषण और साहित्यिक प्रस्तुतियाँ दी गईं।
लाइब्रेरी में विशेष प्रदर्शनी लगाई गई थी, जहाँ रंगनाथन की पाँच पुस्तकालय विज्ञान की “कानून” को छात्र-शिक्षक मिलकर देख और समझ सके। छात्रों ने पुस्तकालय की भूमिका पर चर्चा की — कैसे यह सिर्फ किताबों का भंडार नहीं, बल्कि विचारों और समुदायों को जोड़ने का केंद्र है। इस आयोजन ने छात्रों में आदर और कृतज्ञता की भावना जगाई, साथ ही उन्हें यह प्रेरणा दी कि वे अपने पुस्तकालय का उपयोग न सिर्फ अध्ययन के लिए, बल्कि सीखने, साझा करने और सहयोग करने की जगह बनाएं।
The National Librarians’ Day Celebration at PM SHRI KV Dappar was a meaningful and inspiring event organized to honour the remarkable contribution of librarians and libraries to education and society. Held on 12th August, the celebration paid special tribute to Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, the Father of Library Science in India. Students enthusiastically participated by presenting speeches, reading inspirational quotes, and sharing short write-ups about his life, achievements, and the famous Five Laws of Library Science.
The library was beautifully decorated for the occasion, with a special display of books, charts, and informative posters highlighting the evolution of libraries and the importance of reading. The librarian guided students in understanding how a library functions as a knowledge hub — not just a place for books, but a space for creativity, collaboration, and lifelong learning.
Students expressed gratitude towards the librarian for always supporting their learning journey and helping them discover the joy of reading. They also reflected on the value of libraries in shaping disciplined, curious, and informed individuals.
