Reading promotion week activity

The Reading Promotion Week is a vibrant and inspiring initiative designed to cultivate strong reading habits and a lifelong love for books among students of all classes. Celebrated from 1st to 7th July, this week transforms the school library into an active learning hub filled with creative and engaging activities. Students participate in story writing, book-title poetry, reading quizzes, loud-reading sessions, and character-based storytelling. These thoughtfully planned tasks encourage learners to explore different genres, think imaginatively, and express themselves with confidence.

The activity aims not only to promote reading but also to nurture important skills such as vocabulary building, comprehension, critical thinking, and creativity. Students are encouraged to pick books of their choice, discuss their favourite stories, and share their experiences with peers. This creates a lively culture of reading and collaborative learning across the school.

Throughout the week, enthusiastic readers are identified and appreciated, motivating others to participate actively. The library atmosphere becomes joyful, interactive, and inclusive, helping even reluctant readers develop interest.

Overall, Reading Promotion Week serves as a powerful reminder that reading is not just an academic requirement but a doorway to imagination, knowledge, and personal growth. It reinforces the library’s role as a dynamic centre for inspiration and lifelong learning.
